The challenge

The challenge

To redesign the digital experience for searching for branches (Geolocator) and booking appointments (Booking) for Reale Mutua, overcoming the usability limitations of the existing interface. The aim was to transform a fragmented and complex process into a seamless, transparent and fully responsive user experience (Desktop and Mobile), facilitating direct contact between users and local branches and maximising the booking conversion rate.

The process

The process

The redesign process followed a structured approach comprising four key phases. The preliminary research phase combined a heuristic analysis of the current state (as-is) with a competitive benchmark, enabling us to map the main pain points of the existing interface and identify industry best practices for map-based search and booking slot management. Based on these insights, the information architecture and new user flows were rapidly devised and tested using low-fidelity paper wireframes, exploring various layout alternatives before moving on to digital prototyping. The process culminated in the design of the visual interface: applying the brand’s colour palette and guidelines, the validated user flows were transformed into responsive, high-fidelity UI mock-ups, optimised to ensure intuitive interaction on both desktop and mobile devices.

The outcome

The outcome

Centralised desktop experience: Seamless integration between the interactive map, search bar/filters and detailed agency profiles, with clear and immediate calls to action. Optimised mobile experience: A compact, responsive layout that allows users to switch easily between the map view and the list of search results, ideal for viewing on the move. End-to-end guided booking flow: A step-by-step wizard that guides the user from choosing an agency to selecting a date and time slot, right through to the summary and confirmation screen, drastically reducing cognitive load and the abandonment rate.
